Here she is! As you may have heard (or seen from the picture above) Molly Catherine Roussel, or "Baby Sister," as she is still lovingly referred to by Lucy, has arrived. She came rather quickly last Wednesday, November 4, at 12:57 pm, weighing 8 lbs 6.2 oz, and measuring 21 inches in length. Just a bit smaller than Lucy, but looking nearly identical. Chrissy's labor went very fast; she left work at 10:30 am, and we got to the hospital at 11:20. After a quick check, they immediately started an IV, gave her a fluid bolus, and then placed her epidural. Yes, luckily she had time for the much anticipated/anxiety inducing epidural... not for the fear of the needle, but for the fear of not enough time to get it in before she had to push. Once that was in, she pushed little Molly out in just under 15 minutes! All completed on our OB's (Dr. Cheree Schwartzenburg) lunch break! The rest of the hospital stay went really well. Molly is a great little eater and got the breast feeding down right away. She did have a little jaundice, but we are just watching it; she didn't require the UV lights. We are home now, and both Molly and Chrissy are doing GREAT. On Sunday, we went to the pediatrician to check the jaundice and she is already back to her birth weight, which is pretty amazing. What can I say, we Roussel's like to eat!
In other news, as many of you may have heard, Molly Catherine remained unnamed for a few days, even after we made it home. (By the way, they do let you leave the hospital without a name if you havn't picked one, which we didn't know.) Nonetheless, we are very happy with our decision, even if it took us a little longer than expected. Lucy is loving her "baby sister" and has taken to her quickly. We just have to watch closely because she loves her so much, she is quick to bury her with her stuffed animals or offer her toddler food!
Here are some pictures from the past week:
One of our first pictures holding baby Molly Catherine.
"Here I am world!"

I may be little but I can be LOUD!

Beautiful Mommy holding me on the ride up to our room.
Proud daddy holding me for the very first time.
Dr. Cheree Swchwartzenburg, our OB, who got to deliver Molly.

Just relaxing in my hospital baby pod.

Don't you just love baby feet?

"Baby here, Baby here," Lucy remarked.

Somebody is checking out Molly's fingers, eyes, nose, hair, and ears!

We are so excited, thankful, and blessed to have another baby. The whole experience is amazing.

Coming home to our house.

Such a sweet and sleepy baby.

Molly Catherine Roussel @ 1 week old!
Wow- so sorry we have totally slacked on the blog for the past few months. With our moving, painting, getting ready for the new baby, and trying to keep up with Lucy, we have neglected the blog completely. That being said, we now have a new addition, who will provide us with countless pictures and videos in the coming weeks, months, and years. Mommy is also off from work for the next few months so we should definitely have time for a few blog updates! Check back soon!
PS- Our new blog title photo is thanks to Grandma Fox. As you can see, we had to bribe Lucy with a piece of choclate to get her to sit still for the picture, hence the dark choclate lips and candy wrapper in hand!
Thanks for visiting,
Seth
