Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to all! We here at the Roussel house rang in the New Year with Marc and Meagan (Seth's brother and his wife) and baby Sophie. We watched the LSU game (Geaux Tigers!) and hula hooped the night away on the Wii Fit. Lucy ended 2008 sound asleep in her crib, which is a great way to ring in the New Year when you're 10 months old.

We're looking forward to all the exciting things that 2009 will bring. 2008 was definitely a wonderful, busy year for us--Lucy was born; Seth finished his residency; I left my job; we moved to a new city; Seth started a new job; and several good friends and family members welcomed new babies. I am sad that 2008 is over because that makes it all the more real that Lucy is getting older. On the other hand, I am looking forward to seeing how much she grows and changes in 2009. This morning I was reminded of just how much she grew in 2008. I went in Lucy's room to grab some clothes for her to wear, and when I came back in the living room, she was on her knees in the bouncy seat, clutching the sides and bouncing up and down. (We had taken out the bouncy seat for Sophie to sit in last night.) I remember when Lucy was so tiny that she only took up a fraction of the seat and her primary activity was trying to keep her eyes open. What a difference 10 months makes! Below is a photo of her rediscovery of the bouncy seat.

So goodbye 2008, hello 2009. We're eager to find out what 2009 has in store for us. Hopefully it will be filled with even more love and laughter than 2008.

Lucy found last night's decorations and decided that they looked both interesting and tasty.

We totally forgot to use the noise makers. At least they got some use this morning!

Bouncing away while Mommy was in the other room.

"What? I'm not too big for this! This is fun!"

Awwww.........it kind of makes me sad. I remember seeing some of Lucy's first pictures in that bouncy seat. They really do grow so fast. Atleast you're still getting use out of it!
